The Birdcage

{{ KUROSHITSUJI STRIPCLUB AU }}

What a slummy part of London you've found yourself in.. Heaven knows how you got into this horrible hole in the wall with street walking women and men. But still, no one could deny it was an interesting sight..

The owner assures you if you want to ride out your storm, their dancers are low priced and if you can keep secrets, so can they.

Welcome to The Birdcage.

ANGELINA BARNETT - MEADOW LARK

 LEGAL NAME : Angelina Barnett

 STAGE NAME : Meadow Lark

 AGE : 22

 GENDER : female

DANCER POSITION : Cage Dancer and will sometimes take a few swings around the pole. That isn’t her limit though, she will give a few private sessions in the back if the pay is good enough to keep her interest.

DANCER ROLE : Neutral - Dominatrix - Submissive

PERSONALITY : Angelina is a rather obnoxious woman. Showing that in her dances she can be quick to change the pace. The woman gets bored easily and will move back and forth from the cage and the pole. She does have a rather cheery disposition though, she isn’t as dark as the leather she wears.

HISTORY : A younger Angelina was bullied at the highschool and called various names, thus causing her to do her best to graduate early. Taking her hand in medical school, the Barnett girl dropped out because of the pressure her mother was putting on her and started working corners and sleeping with men she didn’t particularly like. All of that was done just to please her mother and earn the little money she could from cheap sex.

This went on for about a year until she stumbled upon The Birdcage. At first things were a bit rocky with Angelina just barely being able to afford to live in an apartment, but things picked up and she was eventually able to actually buy a home. For her the Birdcage was a heaven on earth, and she enjoys her fellow dancers and other staff as if they were family.

agatsumasoubi sent: ((I'm thinking of applying with the character I rp on this blog--Soubi (I'd make a sideblog, of course) but he's technically a human, though he uses magic in the canon series. Of course I wouldn't have him do anything with that, but it's an essential part of his history and personality, so would I be allowed to keep it, as he's technically a human?))

I’m sorry but I’ll have to say no, since Loveless is, although a human universe, is still heavily fantasy. This is the glory of AUs though, you can and are encouraged to alter the character’s past in some way that complies with the rules. Maybe instead of the magical spells he uses, he was practicing Black Magic or something similar..? Witchcraft? Something that walks the darker side of life? Or whatever you’d feel most comfortable with.

Some people do this AU with demons or reapers and are very much so forced to change the history but if you need any assistance or creative help, the staff is all right here. c:

Dearly noted, we’ll greatly appreciate anyone from any fandom. c:

CORINNE DELACROIX - NIGHTINGALE

LEGAL NAME : Corinne Delacroix

 STAGE NAME : Nightingale

AGE : Just shy of her 17th birthday. She’s only been working for about a month, but she’s been extremely careful not to let any of the customers or her fellow co-workers know she’s underage. The only one who knows is, of course, her boss.

 GENDER : Female

DANCER POSITION : Corinne does anything that will get her money. She’s desperate not to live on the streets and she’ll do whatever her customers ask of her if it means she gets another night in a warm bed and a hot meal. If she could afford to be pickier, she’d much prefer being on the stage and not in someone’s lap or putting out.

DANCER ROLE : Neutral - Dominatrix - Submissive

PERSONALITY : At one point in time, Corinne could say she was a happy-go-lucky and optimistic girl. She’d had a bright future ahead of her before it all went downhill. The sudden change of lifestyle when her mother moved her to the East End began hardening her to life’s tribulations, and after her first sexual performance for pay, her pessimism only grew. She can charm her customers easily enough, but when the show’s over, she’s rather cynical and has a poor outlook on ever getting out of the rut of poverty her and her mother have found themselves in.

HISTORY : Corinne was born into a comfortable home as the only child to high school sweethearts. They’d raised her with love and laughter up until she reached the age of ten when her father lost his job. Since her mother didn’t work due to disability claim, it sent the family quickly spiraling into bankruptcy, which eventually dwindled down the love-filled household Corinne had always known. The divorce papers were signed before the girl could even process what was going on, and suddenly she and her mother were moving clear across the other side of London in the East End to live in little more than a broken down loft.

Life was harder, but Corinne remained optimistic that things would pick up. When she turned twelve, the girl began doing odd jobs around the neighbourhood to help bring in money, since her mother still couldn’t quite do much labour. The odd jobs eventually led to her first sexual act for pay on a night when Corinne and her mother desperately needed money for a few essential groceries. She’d sucked off a stranger in one of the darkened alleyways; a man who had to be well over ten years older than herself. She’d hated it the entire time, but the money the man had given her was enough to last through the week if spent frugally.

She never told her mother about the act, simply telling her mother that she had found a few neighbours who were willing to pay for her doing their housework. Seeing the relief that washed over her mother’s face, sick and crippled as she was, gave Corinne all the determination she needed to continue these sexual favours if it meant her mother living comfortably and well taken care of. By the time Corinne found The Birdcage, she was sixteen and had mastered the art of seduction. It had taken a lot of effort to convince the man in charge to hire her. She was underage and if anyone other than the boss found out, it could potentially ruin the club. But Corinne was shortly approaching her seventeenth birthday, and so the man agreed to hire her as long as she stayed hidden when potential authority figures came for their pleasure.

Corinne has only been working at The Birdcage for a month, and so far her mother has not suspected a thing – believing her daughter to be working a night shift at a diner closer to West End. But regardless, the pay is good and as long as she can keep herself and her mother off the streets, then she’s willing to sell her services, no matter how much she might hate it.

Anonymous sent: Do you allow more than one of the same character? Like you already have a Ciel, but could another apply as a dancer if they change their name and history a bit?

No, I’m sorry but we only allow one of each character here.

CIEL LOUVEL - BLUEJAY

 LEGAL NAME : Ciel Louvel

 STAGE NAME : Bluejay

 AGE : 18

 GENDER : Male

DANCER POSITION : Pole dancer, though willing to do other jobs around the club – for the right pay.

DANCER ROLE : Neutral - Dominatrix – Submissive

PERSONALITY :  This boy is nothing but manipulative, especially if it means getting himself out of trouble, or getting more money for a lesser job – aka, anything that gets him more money without involving back room activities. This skill with manipulation is part of what makes him a neutral dancer, as he’s willing to slip into any role the customer desires – if he gets the money out of it. He’s not exactly a people-person, and this is why he prefers to be on the poles – it involves no talking and little to no contact with the customers.

While quite adept at handling his customers, he’s rather two-faced – politeness and niceties are utterly lost when interacting with the majority of his co-workers. Mind you, it’s the customers who get the fake face, and the co-workers who get to see the real him. The way he sees it, he gets paid to be nice to the customers, but there’s no reason for him to extend the same behaviour to his co-workers – unless, once again, there’s money involved. This poor attitude also transfers to competitiveness, and should anyone be doing better than him, he takes it as a personal offence against himself.

Obviously, he’s all for the money, and is a scrooge with it when he gets it – never lends it, rarely spends it, and when he does it’s usually spent on things that would increase cash flow [ie: outfits to wear while working or any accessories for it].

Ciel makes it a personal rule not to become close to any of his co-workers, or customers, due to The Birdcage’s strict rules regarding relationships that progress further than needed in the work place. Of course, he’s not completely cold, and so he still finds himself almost picking ‘favourites’ – frequent customers who pay well and ask for little, or co-workers whom he convinces himself are no threat to him or his prophets.

This little dancer much prefers male customers, and, should he feel safe to do so, will do all he can to refuse performing for a woman.

HISTORY : Born into a family set in the closest a lower classer can get to middle class – upper lower class, or low, lower middle class at best – Ciel’s father was almost always at work, and when not there he was sleeping. His mother, on the other hand had become a paraplegic a year after his birth in a traffic accident, and therefore found it near impossible to find work. Despite the struggles they faced, to Ciel’s young eyes, his family was a happy and whole one – of course, in such difficult conditions, it was quite the opposite when their son wasn’t around to hear or see them. Arguments were common place, and the marriage started to fray. Divorce was never considered, though, for Ciel’s sake and for his mother’s – his father certainly wasn’t a heartless man, and couldn’t bear the thought of leaving the crippled woman on her own.

By the time he was old enough to attend school, he was also old enough to start doing odd jobs around the neighbourhood, learning quickly that every little bit helped, and he would even be allowed to use a little to buy himself treats. Of course, this means the little boy quickly gained an understanding of the value of money, and why not to throw it away on anything that wasn’t absolutely needed. And that he frequently missed days of school.

At age ten, though, little Ciel’s deceptively happy life came crashing down. Returning from one of his irregular days at school, he found his home up in flames, parents trapped inside. The Fire Fighters didn’t arrive in time, despite their speedy response, and the only child of the Louvels found himself orphaned. Lost in shock in the hospital waiting room, he was deaf to the hustle and bustle around him, as his future was discussed and he was herded off to some strange car, sent to some strange house filled with other boys. A boys’ home, not too far from the wreckage that was once his life.

Predictably, the single child didn’t respond well to having to live with a lot of other children, and had none of the skills which were needed to gain the attention of the two men and one woman who ran the home. Without realising it, his acting out due to frustration did get attention – the wrong kind, not helped at all once the man who considered himself in charge of punishment also took note of the youngster’s looks, and the fact he had isolated himself from the other children. Punishments that started out as ‘simple’ spankings slowly turned to other, strange methods – being doused with chilled water, and made to straddle chairs in the centre of the room, shirtless, being one method that rather frequently left the boy with a cold – to very clear abuse of power. Aged twelve years and eleven months, the night after Ciel had experienced his first wet dream, the man called the little Louvel boy to his room, forced him onto the bed on his stomach, pulled the young teen’s shorts down and proceeded to rape him.

He hadn’t been raised a coward, though, and the moment he was released he went straight to the other adults to tell them what had been done to him – only to discover they didn’t care, and he was quickly ‘put in his place’, told that no one would believe some parentless brat’s word over theirs, that no one cared what an orphan had to say, or whether or not they disappeared. Managing to get some of the other boys to talk to him, he discovered that over the years a number of other boys had received the same treatment, and ‘disappeared’ before anyone outside could ask questions. Unwilling to risk death, and fearing the incidents becoming worse, he kept his mouth shut.

The abuse continued, though, showing no signs of letting up, and Ciel eventually came to the mind set of ‘shut up and deal with it’. It became clear, progressively, that trying to shut down during the acts made the man more violent, and so another lesson was learnt – how to act like it was enjoyable. Little did he know this would help him later in life.

Eventually, though, it became too much, and Ciel refused to allow himself to continue to be used, driving him to run away from the boys’ home. He headed for his old neighbourhood, and once again began to try to find work, as he did when his family was still alive. It was hard, though; many of the people no longer had money to spare on unskilled work, and what jobs he could get were of extremely low pay. He struggled to survive; until he discovered The Birdcage, shortly after his seventeenth birthday, and was told the pay there was good, if he performed well enough. At this point believing any work is good work, he agreed, unawares there was no way out of this job.
